Another thing about the pill to stop you having a period, that I'm not sure anyone had mentioned. I've remembered someone I know who took it, and it didn't work. She came on as usual. So no guarantees whichever way you go really.

I've never heard of a way to stop a period right away once it's started either.

I think messing about with your cycle is not a very clever idea to be honest. I did for years and found it hard to conceive and I'm trying for baby #2 and finding it harder still. I'm never going on the pill again.

I had a massive vaginal bleed (not a period) and the doctor prescribed norethisterone and tranexamic acid. The norethisterone is progesterone based so it's suitabale for people who have problems with oestrogen (which I have). Unfortunately the norethisterone coupled with my implanon caused migranes and I just had the tranexamic acid but in a higher dose and that worked too. Tranexamic acid isn't a hormone so that might be more suitable for you OP (but not sure if it works on regular periods).

I checked with my gp and I need 48 hours notice to be prescribed noristherone. does anyone know if private prescriptions can be got in 24 hours? Im going away on Thursday 10th.
The reason people don't move right down inside the carriage is that there's nothing to hold onto when you're in the middle.

It's perfectly safe, and is a great idea if you don't like to be in pain, vomit, and have blood dripping out of you every month.

Mocha I don't know about stopping it once it's started, but for future reference the only thing I've found that will reliably stop my periods is the contraceptive injection, I've tried two types of pill and I had periods on both.
