Refund From Bid Tv

Can anybody tell me how to get a refund from Bid TV. I sent back a DVD recorder before the one year guarantee was up and was told to expect a refund within 3 to 5 days, three weeks later still waiting. Numerous phone calls to them and they say the refund will be with me within 48 hours. Emails not answered, I am waiting reply to my letter which I sent on Friday. At this moment in time someone is supposed to be phoning me back within the next hour. We'll see. It really pees me off as they are quick enough to take the money from your account. Refunding it is a different matter. I will be telling them I do not want anything more to do with them in future.

When I returned an item, the money was paid back directly into my bank acount within a week. I would keep on at customer service until your refund is complete. Also, may be worth noting, they do not refund the £8 (or however much) postage charge.0

Thank you, I know about the postage. They telephoned me today and said that the refund should be with me Thursday or Friday. I will just have to wait and see. I have been bombarding them with emails but so far all I have got are automated replies. Can't seem to contact anyone unless I telephone them up at great expense to myself.0

If it was over £100 (and I'm guessing here that it was, as they could be bought on the high-street for £50+) and you paid by credit card then once Thu/Fri's refund fails to arrive, I suggest you give up on bid.tv as they have clearly misled (lied?) to you several times. Instead make a claim under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974 against your credit provider as they are EQUALLY liable to you for the sale and all the contractual terms. One phone call to your Credit Card firm + filling in their paperwork with the salient details should be enough. Just be clear with your credit card company that S75-CCA74 this is the basis of your claim as unless you ARE specific they CAN be evasive.0

I think the idiot is the one who doesnt read the OP's message and take into account what they said.
I was trying to offer HELP in offering an alternative refund resolution to the - so far - failed attempts at getting bid.tv to honour their statements. No 'complaint' involved, just a potential alternative way to get one's money back.
The OP said they had now been told THREE times they were getting their refund and IF on this third time it doesnt arrive as promised what would you do ? Ask for a fourth time ? A fifth time ? A sixth time ?
IF it was a >£100 credit transaction then FAR better to deal with an organisation that is likely to live up to its legal commitments the first time.0
