I suspect not. I've come across 'Positive Money' before. They are crazier than a box of frogs on acid.

It's a video posted on the internet.

The starting point for assessing it's veracity should be set accordingly

Without watching the video what's the question behind what's true?

Why the hell are you wasting your time looking at stuff like this. You should be googling for things which at least one person believes might increase the price of houses in Wood Green by 0.00000001% or more and posting them here.

There's an excellent science communicator called Dr Karl who describes the internet's accuracy thus:

"It's like a man standing in a pool of his own urine and vomit writing with Texta [felt pen] on a wall while dogs lick at the sores on his legs".

Ah, Positive Money. Founded by a guy who failed his second year undergraduate economics and has spent the rest of his life trying to convince the world that it's economics that is wrong, not him.

A haven for people who like to use words like "fractional reserve banking" and "counter-cyclical investment" in much the same way as New Age mystics use "quantum energy". They don't understand it at all, but other people listen to them speak the mystical words and conclude that this person must know what they are talking about. And they spend long hours at New Age conferences talking to each other about quantum energy and its effect on the universe. The fact that every word they speak is nonsense doesn't matter as long as they stay in their bubble.

I can't be arsed to watch videos (an incredibly inefficient means of communicating information like this). However Positive Money is based on an incredibly simple misunderstanding of the banking system - as simple as believing that -1 x - 1 = -1 - so I'm going to make a stab at "not really", except for the bits where they state the bleeding obvious.

I'll say yes it is true. Someone else can say no. That way we know the right answer is on the thread and OP can be satisfied that the truth can be found on the internet.
