Anyone remember this hand cream/jelly?

My granny used a hand cream that was more like an opaque watery jelly, that absorbed really quickly and wasn't greasy. It came in a short fat clear glass jar with a gold lid and had a faint lemon smell. I recall seeing it still in the shops in the 1990s.

Can anyone remember what it was called?

  • Might it have been CREMOLIA? It was a nice smell and definitely not greasy. I haven't seen it for some years now and used to buy it in Boots.
  • Ooo Mrs L you are a marvel! That's it exactly and best of all Boots still do it - I've just ordered some :)
    Thanks very much!

Oh, Cremola. I'd forgotten that. My grandmother used it - about the only thing apart from Lavender Water she ever used to enhance her beautiful, wrinkled self.

Oh heavens! I thought I was the only person who remembered this. I smelled a product a couple of years ago (can't remember what it was now) and it took me right back to this cream. It smelled exactly the same. Nobody around or at work had a clue what I was talking about. I can even see the label :)

Thanks for the memory trip, made me think about my lovely gran :)
    Progress not perfection.

Seen on a mug: "I'm not so good with advice. May I interest you in a sarcastic comment?"

Monnagran my granny was the same but the lavender water was always dabbed on with a hanky if anyone was feverish or had a headache! Her handbag also had Tyrozets in which I still buy to this day if anyone has a sore throat. It's funny how as I get older, I find things from my childhood are now my favourites.

Aww my mam used to use this, it brings back memories. I loved the smell of it. I might have to make a trip to boots at the weekend.

I remember it as we used to sell it when I was a Saturday girl in Woolworths.
My Nan always used 'Nulon'. I used to use it too, but haven't seen it locally in ages.
