Attachment of wages change

Hi all,

Hopefully i posted this in the right place! I have been at my current job for 7 years and had a attachment to my earnings from a old CCJ paying off £65 a month to HSBC but i have just took a new job which pays alot more BUT is self employed....

What do i have to do now? i called the court and the women on the phone rudely told me to google it :rotfl: so any advice would be great thanks

That wasn't very helpful of her.

The attachment to earnings fails as you now have no employer.

If you are happy paying £65 per month, just make that payment to the creditor. They have the right to try other means of enforcement such as bailiffs, 3rd party debt order, charging order, but would probably not do so if their £65 per month continues to roll in.

You could vary the order on a N245 but I think the fee for this is £50 so maybe hold that in reserve in case you need to suspend a bailiffs warrant
