Continuous employment question - can any brokers help?

Options
Hi
We are submitting an application in the morning. My partner has a start date for employment dated 24th March 2015. Will this suffice as 12 months employment or will we need to put it off until next month? Or even just next week? Does it have to be exactly 12 months to the day?

Thanks in advance for any help

This will depend on the lender. Some lenders say 12 months continuous from time of employment, others say 12 months at time of completion and others say 12 months but really mean 12 months...ish.

You need to check with the lender before applying or doing any credit checks. If you apply now and your a month early your wasting your time, credit checks and potentially money.

  • Thanks for replying. We already did the check today, it was accepted but the broker never mentioned the 12 month thing until we discussed documents needed for the full app.

It sounds like the broker is award of the position and managing it.

I think he's worried we may be slightly under the 12 month time frame by a few weeks. Will it make a difference that it will be 12 months by the time we complete?
