Freezing hummus?

I have 2 tubs of shop hummus, bought on offer, with an unexpected use-by date of tomorrow (which isn't going to happen). The label says it can't be frozen - but can it??
Has anyone successfully frozen shop bought hummus?

It has olive oil in it which I don't think freezes well; the hummus might separate. I've never actually tried though.0

I can't imagine it'd be that pleasant. I think like fiscalfreckles says it'd probably separate. I think it'd go a bit gritty

It separates out - but I tried it once in a similar situation and whizzed it up in the food processor.
I have to say though, that I usually make my own - much cheaper than shop bought (unless seriously reduced!). I use ordinary (not "extra virgin")olive oil.0 -
I need to go to Specsavers, I saw the title and thought it said 'Freezing humans?' then wondered why it was in the Old Style board

I regularly freeze hummus - I get it so cheaply from the company shop, its about 19p a tub!
anyhoos, once its defrosted give it a good stir with a fork and its fine. I have bought it for years and frozen it without any problems, you just need to give it a really good stir

Thank you! They will go in the freezer tonight!0 -
I freeze shop bought humus regularly. It freezes fine, just needs a good stir when it defrosts as tiredwithtwins says. I split it into tiny pots first, as a whole tub is too big for me and originally I was throwing over half a pit out every week.0

I freeze it if I get some reduced, just give it a stir once it's defrosted and it's fine
