Too early to see a mortgage advisor?

I'm considering speaking to a mortgage advisor (MA) in the next few weeks, but am I wasting my time (and their time) if I'm not looking to buy until Autumn 2017?
My circustances aren't typical (ex-bankrupt, first time buyer, 48 year, looking for 25 year mortgage which means past state pension age, etc) so I have lots of questions) but I don't want to arrange something if the MA would consider me a time waster this early in the game?

Too much water to go under the bridge, IMHO.
Leave it until this time next year and that gives you a six month run-up.I am a mortgage broker. Chances are any advice given now would be wrong in 18 months time.
Lenders change criteria all the time so you being told you can do this that or the other may not be available in Aug 2017.
I would say save like mad to build you deposit up and book someone in for spring 2017I am a Mortgage Adviser
