Northern Rock Address?

Morning, I had two mortgages with the Northern Rock from the mid 80's until early 2001 when I switched provider. Due to the time frames involved I was under the impression that I would not be eligible as when I moved all paperwork was lost or misplaced therefore the only verification of myself having these would be the houses I had lived in and no account numbers. Recently I've been badgered by a number of PPI agencies saying that they would be able to claim back funds, however I don't want to go down that route but if I am entitled to anything pursue this myself.
I have tried various web sites etc. to gain the address to try and contact them but I'm coming up to a brick wall.
Does anyone know if I would be eligible without documentation and if so does anyone know which address I should try?
Thanks.

  • It is very unlikely that you had PPI in the mid 80s as the product was in its infancy. In addition Northern Rock was not a member of an ombudsman scheme at least until 1987, then the Building Societies Ombudsman was launched.

Also, since it is now 15 years since you had an account with it, there is every possibility that an records have been destroyed.
  • Thanks for the info, I'll give this a go. Nothing ventured nothing gained.

A lot of NR business was done via brokers. NR have no liability over broker business.

What was the name of the insurer you were paying? (it would have been a monthly direct debit)
