Just because you are allowed to earn doesn't mean that you shouldn't declare that you do earn. Not declaring it (even if it makes no difference to your overall income - tax and benefits) is fraud. You are required to declare it.

You are allowed to earn 11k before paying tax so why do you need a tax return for no income? In fact they would probably owe me if I was in business as I have spent put more than I have coming in.

You're not seriously suggesting that everyone who earns a few quid here and there are committing fraud. That means everyone who sells a few bits and bobs on eBay needs to fill out a tax return? So all these people are committing fraud in your eyes?

If they are selling things on ebay which are not their own belongings (for example something made for sale) then yes they should declare it. We criticise big cos like google for not paying their tax, we have no right to do that unless we declare our own incomes correctly.

For your information, playing the disabled card does not entitle you to avoid paying any tax due or to avoid any deduction to benefits caused by an income

Laughable. You call a few quid a month an income? Seriously? Don't be so absurd. You've got your priorities all out of proportion. Benefit fraud it extremely low but shame on you for believing all the hype and nonsense you obviously read in the likes of The Daily Fail.

The fear of the DWP, if you really have any idea of how they work, is because of the punitive regulations that have brought in since 2010 which makes seriously ill people and people with serious fluctuating conditions as myself full of fear. If you knew have any idea of what it is to have a mental health condition where fear is all encompassing you before you've even started you would understand the fear instead of coming out with your glib judgemental comments and diagnosis by Internet. You know nothing about me or my situation. Many disabled people need a creative outlet if they are stuck at home. Go away and educate yourself

I have a disability and have had for many years.I'm lucky in that I can still work so don't need to claim ESA, yet. But I know all about it and how the goalposts have been moved to suit the agenda of an uncaring and manipulative Government.

As well as my disability I have co-morbid depression (a mental illness) which, like the disabling condition I have, is not under control despite having tried various treatments and medications. This has led to several attempts to take my own life.

However, at no point have I stooped so low as to actively try and hide income that I have coming in from anyone with the authority to know about it.

You may be ableto earn upto a certain threshold beforepaying tax and NI, you may be able to work so many hours or earn x amount before it affects your benefits claims, but if you look at the rules appropriate to those benefits, or tax and NI, it clearly states that you have a statutory requirement to notify such income, even if it is below the limitsn as it will count towards your total income for calculation purposes.

As for your suggestion that I have diagnosed by internet, please show me anywhere in any of my comments where I have even attempted to diagnose your health issues.......

I may be waiting sometime foryou to provide proof as I have never done this, to anyone.

You make the moral choice as to whether you follow the statutory requirements laid before you, but I certainly won't be providing you with details of how to circumnavigate the system that everyone else has to follow the rules of. Especially considering I work for one of those departments you are looking to defraud.

You are allowed to earn 11k before paying tax so why do you need a tax return for no income? You don't, you need to submit a tax return to show your profits AND losses. Losses which can then be used against other income or set against future/previous years profits In fact they would probably owe me if I was in business as I have spent put more than I have coming in. Thats not how it works. You only get tax relief on expenses if you have, or are due to pay tax. You don't get back the valueof the money you pay into the business.

You're not seriously suggesting that everyone who earns a few quid here and there are committing fraud. That means everyone who sells a few bits and bobs on eBay needs to fill out a tax return? So all these people are committing fraud in your eyes?
NO. Number 1 people selling their own personal items on ebay won't in 99.9% of cases be making a profit on those items. They are selling their old personal items for significantly less than they bought them for, therefore no profit, therefore no tax to pay.

2, You are only self employed if you are actively trading to make a profit,i.e you set out with the intention to make more money than you spend buying/producing stock items. The majority of private sellers on ebay are trying to declutter their homes. They are not trading, so no need to complete a tax return.

    My comments in red.
