Help With Semi Permanent Colour Please

I have bought a semi permanent hair dye which is superdrug own brand. Im growing out a dark golden brown garnier permanent which I applied six months ago so I have bought a semi which matches my regrowth hair until all the permanent dye grows away. On the semi dye instructions it instructs to rinse after twenty minutes then shampoo the hair? rinse again the apply the enclosed conditioner then obviously rinse again. I have never used a colour which says you have to shampoo before using the conditioner before. Could it be a mistake in the instructions?. I have tried to contact superdrug but cant get through to them. Surely shampooing straight after application would remove the colour?. Has anyone else used this brand of semi dye?.
Britain is great but Manchester is greater

I think unless it's given you a shampoo to wash with, I'd ignore that. It goes against the instructions I know but I'd worry that the dye would not be strong enough if I did this.
I'd also have used a permanent colour. If it's the same colour as your natural colour, why constantly reapply it until it grows out? If it grows out to your natural colour and this is the same as the semi, then surely it's just about colouring it once (maybe again once it fades after 2 months) and then you've not got to reapply every 2-3 weeks when it's faded enough to be noticeable0 -
can you give us a link to the product?left the forum due to trolling/other nonsense

I know the dye you mean. I've used it (the chestnut brown one) and I ignore the shampoo stage. Just rinse well and use the conditioner.0

Thank you cashewnut. I have bought the dark truffle shade because the other brunette shades looked like they might have red tones in them which I don't want. Did the colour come out well for you?.I used L'Oreal casting in medium brown a few years ago after seeing good reviews on the boots site and it came out almost black!. I like superdrug because their own brand products are not tested on animals.I know the dye you mean. I've used it (the chestnut brown one) and I ignore the shampoo stage. I've used the same semi-dye before and it lasted about 5 weeks in my hair, I left the dye in my hair for longer than they suggest (1 hr, I forgot about it!) and shampoo-d afterwards just to make sure all the dye had washed out properly and wouldn't stain my pillows! Overall good but, gave me a slight purpley tint!

Yes, I really liked how it came out and I agree about the Casting Creme dyes coming out MUCH darker than the box photo!
I make the dye fade slower by using shampoos for coloured hair. I love the L'oreal one in a red bottle and Aussie's Colour Mate.0
