Greenglide,
I will not be entering into further debate about my pension on a public forum, clearly other's on this forum have suffered similar treatment with regards to contracting out.
I suggest in future that you do not make premature assumptions when you are not in possession of the full facts. You will hopefully recollect that my original thread was with regards to NIC Class 3 Top ups, please stick to that if you have anything further to contribute.0 -
At the momnent we're really only able to speculate about those but it does appear most likely that the phone discussion was referring to voluntary topups. The problem then is working out how you're entitled to them. You will hopefully recollect that my original thread was with regards to NIC Class 3 Top ups, please stick to that if you have anything further to contribute.
A check of your NI record is one way to see whether there are any gaps in the last six years, the normal time threshold for past years. If none in that time you'd only productively be able to buy years if not still working in the future or if somehow some other condition applies to you, though none comes to my mind as possibly relevant.
If no sign of gaps in the most recent six years the best I can suggest is that you call again and seek clarification of the basis under which you could buy years.
Sadly in this case there's not enough information available to us yet to know just how you qualify and exactly what it is that you'd qualify for.0
