Mortgage Application - Self-Employed/end of Tax Year

Hi,
I asked this question on a separate thread the other day but it didn’t get answered so starting a new thread.
We’d like to include my wife’s earnings for an upcoming mortgage application, and as she’s self-employed, I understand we must wait till April 6th for the tax year to end so that she has a complete year’s worth of accounts. We can’t use figures from the previous tax year as she was on maternity leave for a large portion of it and consequently her earnings were very low.
My question is when can we apply for a mortgage in principle to take these latest figures into account? Is it April 6th? May 6th to allow time for the figures to appear ‘on the system’?
Thanks in advance.

Once you have the self assessment return submitted and the SA302 downloaded from HRMC. Mid April I would say.I am a Mortgage Broker
