I would think some sort of compensation for your time and effort fighting this would be in order yes.
Remember don't ask, don't get !!
I'm certainly going to respond to the letter and request it. I don't feel that I would be out of order for doing so, given the time that I've had to put into it. I think the least that they can do is reimburse the money for the Recorded Delivery letters that I had to send - but I won't be telling them that, just yet.Is that all?
I agree that you should be compensated for what is now clearly an error on their part
I'm not too sure whether the Ombudsman can force a company to pay compensation? I thought that was the remit of the courts, if private negotiation fails. I suppose it would be different if I had have paid the bill, or the 'debt', I'm sure they would have asked that I be reimbursed... I may, however, just have completely made that up.
Big thanks to both of you for all of your advice that assisted me in getting to this point. Couldn't have done it without you! :beer:0 -
From the ombudsman website:If we decide to make an award, and you accept it, the communications company must take the action that we require. This might include:
- a service or a practical action, for example, removal of charges incorrectly billed;
- an apology;
- an explanation of what has happened; or
- a financial award.
