Do F&F's mess up credit records again?

We are about to go self-managed after being on a DMP for 12 years with SC. This is to make it easier to do CCA requests followed by F&Fs to those that are left.
My DH's only concern is that if we do F&Fs will these show on our credit reports again as having been settled, since all bar one of our defaults have disappeared?

Hi Scottish mummy,
Once a default for a particular account has reached the six year limit, and fallen off you credit file, nothing you do will bring it back again.
Once its gone, its gone for good, as if it never existed.
The only exception would be if legal action were taken, the default would still fall off your file, but the CCJ would be there another 6 years.
