I always check my receipts before I leave the store,I shop at Asda and its unusual for them not to make a mistake.I think it's great because they give you two pounds on a gift card if they make a mistake. So by Christmas I have quite abit to spend on Christmas goodies. They must make a fortune out of people who never check.0

I used to live 15 miles away from the nearest supermarket and I only went into town once a week under normal circumstances. I quickly realised that it was far better to spend a couple of minutes after the check out actually checking the receipt, than to have to drive back to get something corrected. I would say one in ten transactions were wrong.Solar Suntellite 250 x16 4kW Afore 3600TL dual 2KW E 2KW W no shade, DN15 March 14

And this is a policy so if your store is like mine and they dont want give you a gift card, go onto asda.com live help and have a moan. Might only be £2 but it all helps and customer service will send you one.
BTW, how can you be overcharged by the pound shop? Surely the number of goods purchased would match the amount of £'s spent? Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.

I only started checking receipts after reading here on Mse that Asda gave out free vouchers if you'd been overcharged, by even 1p. I've found more mistakes than i expected.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,

I was in asda a few months ago and they had cat litter freshener for 60p each so bought 4. I was charged 80p each at the till so I went to customer service, got the difference back and an extra £2 back on a giftcard... I really only paid 10p per catlitter freshener!
The next day I went in and it had been put up to £2.50!! They must of had it on a wrong price!0 -

2 for £1 or
3 for £1
so you could have, for example, 11 items and have only spent £5.0 -
My local shop makes a lot of mistakes which Ive only noticed recently; Im on a strict budget so I go in there with £12 cash and walk round adding things up as I go, so I know Ive got enough, and I know how much it should all cost - then if I get to the till and its too high, I notice it. They don't give out receipts either, so thats your only chance to notice.''A moment's thinking is an hour in words.'' -Thomas Hood0
