As it says above - we are mid house move and also just about to go BR - if we go to the court in the next few days will our current address go on the register?
Or will it be the one we move to in a few weeks time?
Cheers

Actually, it's:
1. The current address you are living at on the day you go BR, PLUS
2. Any addresses you have been living at in the period before you went BR
The general idea is that you must include all addresses where you may have incurred debt, and your outstanding creditors may have on file for you.
If I recall, on the BR application it says something like: Joe Bloggs, currently of (insert current address) and formerly residing at (insert previous addresses)
So, the really smart move would be to go BR ASAP so your "current" address goes on the Insolvency Register. However, be aware that it can take a couple of weeks for the OR to put your info into the Gazette, so if you advise them of a change of address they may still put your new address on!

Echo Cobalt's post.
I moved just after BR. I put my 'old' address on the forms.
Insolvency Service register will list your 'last known address' - so even if your Gazette notice gets in with the 'old' address (as mine did), when the IS know you have moved (e.g. you inform them for correspondence) your new one will be listed as 'last known address'.
Only way to avoid your new one being listed is to not inform the OR - which I guess there is nothing dodgy about IF THEY DON'T ASK (and all post sent to previous address is redirected).
This is one of the main reasons why credit products will ask for previous address - as if you put in John Smith, 5 New Street, DOB 01/01/1970, and you are now on the electoral roll, you *may* come back as found (ID Verified) but blank history (assuming no ties to the old address had been created for you at the CRAs yet).
By asking for previous addresses covering 2/3 years, they cover themselves, as you bank account etc will create links on your credit report well within that time.
Whether leaving your old address on your OR's records, and redirecting post, would come across as dodgy depends on the OR I guess. Although the idea of keeping your new address out of public record is 100% understandable, you potentially introduce problems where there should not be any - e.g. OR, when they get wind of it, then has to look at whether you have any interest in the current property, undisclosed assets etc etc. Not suggesting you do, but I just told them during my interview to avoid any suspicion.
Also your statement of affairs and any IPA/IPO may change if you move property, as a result of the adjusted outgoings.0 -
Hi,
The address you must give is where you live on the day you go bankrupt (plus appropriate previous addresses)
Once you move (whilst you are undischarged) you have a duty to inform the OR of your new address - at which point the Insolvency Register will be updated.

Thanks all - I am not trying to avoid anything for dodgy reasons just really don't like the idea of current address being on file (assume it stays there after the 12 months??)... Have an abusive family member who I have successfully avoid for years - I know they could find me other ways but makes me feel a bit vulnerable.
Cheers again0
