put it this way i wouldnt know about the site if it wasnt for the forum competition and i love sudoku (and loved actually solving the puzzle!) if the comps not being advertised thats (how many hits does the forum get) not visiting their site. hmm who comes out worse off

couldnt care less about the book but would be nice to be given the benefit of the doubt.

We do appreciate the link to our website.

However, displaying the solution on the forum defeats to object of having the competition and gives MSE (in UK) entrants an unfair advantage over entrants from other countries. Unlike many other competitions, who make money from each obvious entry, this puzzle is meant to a challenge and introduce Samurai Sudoku to a new audience.

Everyone is welcome to enter the next competition starting on 28th September.

OK I won't post the answers again but can I query your statement that entrants in the UK have an unfair advantage. Non-members, as well as members, from all over the world can and, I am pretty certain, do view this site (only members can post on it). Perhaps other MSE members could confirm that the site is not only accessible by people in the UK.

At least 98% of the entrants directed from this site are certified UK in origin.
