soft drink recipes?

Has anyone got a good recipe for an easy to make, long, cold and tasty soft drink:D

I've tried lots of shop stuff and can't find one I like, they all seem to be full of chemicals and added stuff.

Usually a cold cider does the trick but then I start another and another and up goes the old BP again:eek:

I've made it with redcurrant juice in place of lemon. I've seen a wartime recipe that uses rhubarb juice too (bake rhubarb in oven with sugar and strain off resulting juice).

I absolutely adore fresh lime soda which we get at Sarkhels in London and I found this recipe on Waitrose

    Juice of 2 limes
    3 tsp caster sugar
    Pinch of salt
    Pinch of freshly ground cumin
    Soda water, well chilled
    Ice (optional)
    1. Pour the lime juice into a chilled glass, and add the sugar, and then the salt and cumin to taste.
    2. Add ice if you like, top up with chilled soda water and serve straight away, garnished with lime wedges.

How about old fashioned lemon. Basically some lemons (if you warm them a bit in the microwave they give more juice) squeezed into a jug, add some sugar or sweetener, top up with water. I tend to slice the lemons up add sweetener then water ice cubes, add more lemon juice (jif) if it's not lemony enough. haven't tried this with oranges but I suppose it would work just the same.
OR make a pot of tea (I use Earl Grey, but you could try with any of the flavoured tea bags), add sugar to taste I add lemon juice to Earl Grey our into jug add cold water and ice cubes even mint if you want (don't add milk tho')
OR nice cold water with a slice of lemon or lime
OR Old fashioned ginger beer...I'm sure someone will post the recipe
