HSBC Mortgage decision call

Hi guys,
So I had my HSBC advisor meeting over the phone 2 days ago and I got my agreement in principle and KFI. We were told because as it is a joint application and my partner is 3 months into a 6 month probation, the underwriters may have an issue but they are being far less strict these days (think it all depends on the profession/industry).
Anyways I called today for an update and the woman said that a decision has been made but we will have to wait until Tuesday to find out where we will have a 25 minute phone call with our advisor.
I was wondering if this amount of time sounded about right for either the application having been approved or rejected.
I only ask as we are in a tight timeframe of 28 days (we are buying a new build) so we want to make sure a plan B is firmly in place.
Id be very grateful if anyone with experience could help.
