Hi hope someone can help me, this debt goes back to 2001 believe it or not with dixons it started with and I have paid this off back in 2005 -2006 to wescot the problem being wescot are saying they have no account for me so will not send me a paid in full letter but I have all the bank statements with they payments going out which I sent off to the company demanding the debt at the time and I heard nothing back till today this letter went to my old address where my ex husband now lives and he passed on to me I hav'nt live there for 4 years and its now 15 years since the original debt. the other problem is I am no longer with the original bank although I presume I could probably still get the statements at a cost is there anything else I can do than go through all that hassle again when I know I have paid it off ?????

Dont worry about it as its time barred now. You dont owe anything - well actually, no one can force you to make payments on this.
  • If you paid this off back in 05 - 06, the debt won't show on your credit file anymore.
Not sure how the paid in full letter will help now unless you are being chased again.

Has another company come trying it on asking for money?

Would be one hell of a coincidence if it wasn't ;)

Was that one a wall of text with virtually no punctuation in it as well?

Would you like someone to email you a large bag of commas, fullstops, and new line/enter buttons?
You don't appear to have any on your keyboard.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.
