When do we hear from Halifax?

We complete on our house purchase next Friday

The mortgage is going to be with Halifax.

They haven't yet asked us for our bank details of where they should take the monthly payment from, or what date we would like for the direct debit.

Is this unusual for them not to have these details yet? Or do they ask after completion?

It's done during the application process brokers use.

  • Thank you. We applied via a broker but have never given any bank details or said about a payment date

Bank details taken from bank statements, assumed payment date 1st of month?

You need to speak to your broker and establish what they have entered as you cannot submit the application without this data.

  • I didn't have to supply bank statements, but I do bank with Halifax so Im sure they can find my account number pretty quick to take the money :)

Your broker did not ask for bank statements?

I find that strange. I was under the impression we all now routinely obtain three months payslips, three months bank statements, proof of deposit, ID and proof of address.

  • Not from me, bank statements were requested from my partner (Halifax asked for them)

He also had to give three months payslips and proof of ID and address.

I think Halifax didn't request anything from me as I bank with them, so could see my salary going in and they already checked my ID when I opened my current account with them
