New Laptop

Hi I have bought myself a new Laptop it is a HP. I am very happy with this but I have one moan and dont know what to do about it
I was persuaded to buy this as it had software on it. Nortons and Microsoft Office.
When I started up the laptop for the first time Nortons informed me that it was a 3 months trial and then I would have to up grade. I wasnt all that bothered about that
But today i have used Mircrosoft Office for the first time and it asking for a key number. If no key number then I can use it for 23 visits.
I am annoyed about this there was no disc with the laptop and no Office certificate with the laptop either, so no key number
What are my options her, have I been misold, as this was one of the reason for buying this particular laptop
Any advice on what I can do, I like the laptop but I didnt realise they were only trial software, and as it is a Vista I would probably have to buy the new Office disc for it to be compatible.

I suspect they are both trial versions and should have been sold as this to you. When I got a new laptop it came with loads of stuff, only when you open it do you find it is time restricted or some such. Took all of it off the machine. Ditch Norton and get AVG (free) and Open Office will do for a replacement for MS office. We all evolve - get on with it0

Hi Thanks for you quick replies, but do I have chance of getting the real Office off Staples they were the ones that promoted the laptop with software. Should I go in and see them or just put up with it

Whats the model of HP, check on HP's site about specs. It's possible that there maybe an OEM number for the Office Suite in the packageing somewhere or on a sticker under the laptop. If it seems to be mis-sold take it back and ask for a refund. Office suite is about £90 Student and Home Addition.0
