Disney themed party

My son is eighteen soon, and is having a party. He has Down's Syndrome and numerous medical conditions. There are likely to be around 20 young people there with learning disabilities.
The theme for his party is Disney. He's a massive fan and has many of the films. His particular favourites are Lady and the Tramp, Bambi, The Fox and the Hound, The Aristocats, and 101 Dalmatians (all animal films!)
So, I'm hoping that someone has great ideas for party food that isn't too complicated to make, is a reasonable price, and can be linked to a Disney film. Ideas so far, mainly from Pinterest, are
Watermelon ship filled with fruit (Peter Pan)
White cake pops with black icing dots (101 Dalmatians)
Chocolate cake pops with chocolate button ears (Mickey Mouse)
Pizza decorated with olives to look like Baymax (Big Hero 6)
Oreo biscuits with chocolate button ears (Mickey Mouse)
Ratatouille (Ratatouille)
Fruit kebabs (Jungle Book)
Sausage rolls with lollystick wings, decorated as film (Planes)
Jessie's hat biscuits (red icing and jelly sweet on a biscuit, trimmed with white icing detail), (Toy Story)
Most are sweet things, though, and I'd like some more savoury food.
Things I'm including, but not really Disney themed, are
Sandwiches
Cheese platter
Pasta salad
Gateaux
Dips with veggie sticks and breadsticks (dips will probably be in plastic shot glasses, so people can take mini pots on their plates)
Salad (could maybe tie in with Bugs Life?)
Crisps
My sister is happy to serve some hot food, possibly chicken and chorizo with pasta. Hotdogs are likely to be popular as well.
I'm sure I've missed some stuff. Numbers are likely to be between 70 and 100, all ages. No nuts or pineapple due to severe allergies (me
).
I can use Disney themed tableware, and decorations are obviously Disney themed. Hopefully someone can help me with more food ideas. Everything will be clearly labelled, showing what the food is and what the film link is.
Thanks for reading such a long post!

Ordered one from Amazon for 99p!
I've also ordered a Mickey Mouse hole punch and some red serviettes. I'm going to roll the serviettes into a pencil shape, and make napkin rings from strips of paper topped with a Mickey silhouette.0 -
Sorry this is another sweet idea but if you google disney candy apples they have some really cool ones that disney sell in the parks and people have instructions on how to make at home.
The first thing I think of when someone says lady and the tramp is meatballs, obviously spaghetti would be messy in buffet form but meatballs in a pasta bake?0 -
Thanks Jen. I'll speak to my sister about the pasta (she's in charge of hot food), and I'll have a look at the candy apples.0

With the cheese platter maybe see if you can buy a model of Remmy from Ratatouille to sit on the plate somewhere maybe put a little bit in his paws make it look likes he's eating it?
I must say i'm 30 in a few weeks and I would love a party like the one you're throwing for your son sounds amazing and you have put so much thought in to it alreadyFirst Date 08/11/2008, Moved In Together 01/06/2009, Engaged 01/01/10, Wedding Day 27/04/2013, Baby Moshie due 29/06/2019 :T0 -
Thanks Faith, that's a good idea too.
I'm really enjoying organising the party. My ex is paying half the costs (which is amazing, especially as he's being nice about it too!). I'm sorting all the details though, and I'm still on a budget. Two decks of cards from the pound shop, laminated pictures from Alice in Wonderland, all dangling down a strip of ribbon, is today's effort. Well, the effort was thinking about it - I've not actually made them yet. Today has been far too busy.
Have a great 30th birthday x0 -
Have you seen the Disney inspire website? There are some great ideas for food and also crafts which might help for your decorations. I love these especially

It sounds like a lot of fun, I love all things Disney too :T0 -
Sorry I haven't replied earlier Beth, I somehow missed your post. Thanks for the link. I'll take a look at it this afternoon.0
