I did a bit of comping before, and that email address currently has 6000+ unread emails.
I'm guessing there's no magical answer to this, bar ensuring you check your email every day to delete marketing emails.
(I've set up a google alert.)
Thanks

I have filters set on my inboxes so all emails with "congratulations" and "winner" get sent to a seperate folder. I still scan through all the other emails but it does save time.2017 wins = £1350
2016 wins = £125 (18 months off comps)
2015 wins = £6,460
2014 wins = £1,3500 -
I have my emails set to flag any that have certain keywords such as "winner" or "congratulations" etc. Although, It's pretty easy to tell between a winning email to general newsletters without opening them now. I check them everyday just so I'm not drowning in emails by the end of the week :rotfl:You never learn anything by doing it right

I have a spare Gmail email address that I use almost solely for entering competitions. I have two filters set up so that the emails stating that I've won a Click to Win or Daily Magazine competition get appropriately tagged and are forwarded to my main email address. I also have another filter that tags emails containing the word "congratulations".
As for the other emails, I quickly scan who the sender is and the subject line in batches of 25. If nothing sticks out, I just mark them all as read and repeat.0 -
I check my emails several times a day so I don't get a huge build up......on the exception of days such as Black Friday though when I get lots and lots and lots!
I just skim down them quickly and I have filters set up to star emails with 'congratulations' and 'winner'.:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0 -
I've got a promotions section in my email inbox and I have just had a look and I have 77,000 emails in there. :eek:The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0

I would say that anything over 30 days old isn't worth checking because they would have moved on and picked another winner by then. Checking old ones could just leave you feeling gutted about missing out on an amazing prize.Thank you to everyone who posts on the competitions boards. You all rock!0
