Nationwide text updates

We are currently applying for a nationwide mortgage through our broker. It has been a lengthy process. This is mainly due to the wrong address being submitted on the application form. The valuer valued the correct property but also submitted the incorrect address on the valuation report. This resulted in nationwide requesting to see a the title deeds and then requesting conformation that the surveyor did value the correct property. Anyway this seems to all be sorted and my broker assures me that we will receive our offer in the post early next week. This is great news but I feel a little concerned as I haven't received a text or email from nationwide confirming their mortgage offer. I got a text when the application was submitted and when the valuation was booked but nothing since. Is this normal?

I'm currently applying direct to Nationwide, I'm just coming up to three weeks in. There has been a relentless procession of errors which I won't bore you with, but I'm hopefully at the stage you're at now.
There has been a lag of about three days between when they supposedly (as far as they are concerned) Had all the docs they need and now, without any communication of an offer. I think this is just their timescale at the moment, its currently two working days to check docs, then a further 3-4 days to issue an offer, This is the point that it probably sits with the underwriters before they approve it.
With regards to txt updates, these came thick and fast when I first applied but stopped after about week one, I wouldn't rely on them as a means of confirming your offer as they seem very hit and miss.0 -
Don't worry! We applied to Nationwide 3 weeks ago. As Berger3 said, many silly errors from them, but we got there and the text came out the blue yesterday
be patient.

I went direct with Nationwide and found the texts spot on. The offer text came exactly a week after the valuation and a confirmation email at the same time.
Has your broker confirmed that you have an offer? Or that they expect you to have an offer by next week? If it's the former then I wouldn't worry about the text update, if your broker says you have an offer then you have an offer. Right?
It can feel like not much is happening but I just gave them a call and they were happy to give me an update. As you've used a broker I assume you will have to make contact via them.0 -
Thanks for your replies. This has been dragging on for four weeks now. As far as I can make out its all down to the wrong address being submitted! My broker called nationwide yesterday who assured him we would receive our offer in the post early next week. So I'm not sure if this means we have officially got an offer. Probably not as I've still not received an email or text! It's probably been put back in another pile.0
