help with morning traffic at royal victoria

Hi all, I would be really thankful for a quick reply. I'm going up to royal Victoria hospital for some tests tomorrow (Friday 19/02/16), my appointment is 10.30am.

I'm travelling by car from LDerry so leaving at 8.00am, so should be arriving at westlink around 9.15-30am is there queues at this time or have i missed the rush hour? Thanks for any advice offered......:)

I think traffic will still be fairly heavy at that time, but moving so should be time enough. Something else to bear in mind is that there can often be queues for car parking at the Royal, hopefully someone else will be along to advise 😀

Traffic will still be heavy, I would give myself an extra half hour, all it takes is for someone to break down on the westlink and the whole city grinds to a halt!

As for parking, you can use the park centre car park and walk over to the hospital if the queues for hospital parking are bad.

Traffic is usually a bit lighter on Fridays, plus it's half term, so it was definitely lighter than usual...

quick update. Arrived at westlink 9.15 today and all was smooth with traffic flowing well. No problems with Royal Victoria car parking. So all went well and back home safely.......:-) Thanks for all the advice its appreciated....

Pleased you got sorted ok. Belfast traffic tends to be lighter on Friday mornings, but that's not to be depended on! We were going from Lisburn to the Ulster hospital yesterday, usually 30 minute trip so we doubled it, thought an hour would be plenty. It wasn't, took an hour and 10 minutes from home to parked. Two sets of roadworks and a 30 minute wait in the car park queue. Next time we'll consider going the day before and camping in the car park!
