Help to buy mortgage with adverse credit history

Hello Everyone,
Does anyone know whether getting a mortgage using the Help to Buy Wales scheme is possible with a default or has anyone reading this managed to secure a mortgage with one on their file?
The default was first registered 2 years & 8 months ago and was for £1000. It has been settled. I have no other adverse credit history at all. I only have one credit card in my name & have no outstanding debts.
I have the 5% deposit & was looking to use the HTB Wales scheme - I've seen a few other threads on here which are similar but wanted to see what you brokers out there think? Are there any potential lenders or would it be a waste of time at the moment to even think of applying with anyone?
Thank you

Placeable on the face of it, but tricky and extremely slim options.
