We had an offer accepted on a house, mortgage agreed, process started. We have paid for homebuyers survey and awaiting report.
Just had a phone call to say that another interested party who viewed and offered on the house has now made another offer higher than mine. They are cash buyer.
I am waiting to here what will happen.
However, my question is; what should I do about survey? I know it is non refundable but is that if I change my mind?
Should I ask for it to be put on hold whilst a wait to hear what's happening.
Thanks

I'd ask them to hold off on the survey for now. Will you increase your offer if you have too?0

If it's non-refundable then it's non-refundable - they won't care whether or not you end up buying the property. But if they haven't actually carried out the survey then I wouldn't expect them to charge you. So you can probably tell them to hold off.
Then again, a purchaser who has already had their survey carried out and is happy with it may be viewed as a safer bet.0 -
I'd hold off on the survey if possible, and check that you can get your money back.0

Hi. Thanks for the replies.
I spoke with agents and they will hold off survey until we know what's happening.
Not really expecting it to go in my favour though.
I don't intend to raise my offer. I made an asking price offer and I am not in a chain.
I will look elsewhere if needed.🎄PAYDBXMAS21 #11 £11,300/£11300

Good on you; plus there's no guarantee they won't do the same again.0

I agree, grenage. It could go on like that indefinitely. I will be disappointed if we don't get the house but I am a believer in 'if it's meant to be'.🎄PAYDBXMAS21 #11 £11,300/£11300
