help !!! please!!!

Hi,

i'm brand new to being a debt free wannabe and since living university i've managed to accumulate quite a lump sum. I suffered badly with depression at university and instead of handling it straight away with doctors and counsellors help; i instead turned to drink and retail therapy. Thankfully am on the mend and starting to get back on top of things. Because of all this though i have an extremely bad credit rating, i owe my mum £1800 two credit cards that total £700 and a storecard which i have £180 on it. I've recently got a job but as im still not 100% im not capable of working part time and am picking up £700 a month before tax, plus i have to give my mum £200 a month rent as well.

I have no idea where to start and no idea how to begin to figure things out, any advice on ways i can save money would be great. It doesnt help im in a long distance relationship, and i plan to start a pgce course next september. So any useful tips and advice would be great. I'm slowly working my way through the site for credit rating advice and such like, but i thought i'd appeal to you wiser moneysavers and debt escapers for some sound and helpful advice or even a point in the right direction.

Sorry for waffling on

Thanks

Taz :o
