The entire application application process is handled by an underwriting team. They'll be handling thousands of enquires concurrently. So knowing the precise position of your application at any given moment in time simply isn't practical. Half term week as well so staff numbers are going to be lower than normal. Sometimes best to let due process take it's course and let people get on with jobs. The more disruption the longer the task will take.
