PrePaid Debit Cards

I no longer have a debit card but would like a card to use for convenience and on the internet. I have seen adverts for these types of cards but cannot find any information on them. Has anybody had any experience of these cards and whether they are any good?

I havent used them myself but did see an article at moneysupermarket a while back at
http://www.moneysupermarket.com/cards/prepaid-cards-guide1.asp
I also think Martin did a article and could well be worth doing a search on the main site and also these forums.

Thanks for your help. I have used the links above and realise that there is a cost involved and as I am trying to cut down I have decided to carry on without one. If all goes well in 6 months I can get one from my bank that doesn't charge.
