366 Penny Challenge

We're doing the penny challenge too!! Plus, like many others have said, if we get a bit of loose change we throw this in too.
I may struggle as the amounts get bigger but am trying to continue at least until the end of October and use the money for Christmas pressies for the kids.
You can never start saving for Christmas too early!!

I'm doing this too with a specific goal to pay it off my smaller credit card at the end of the year
I got a diary and wrote each day's amount in the square I then highlight them off as I chuck them in the pot - sometimes 3p sometimes £3.33 - that way I figure I won't end up with lots of £3 days all in one go
so far I am ahead of myself by about three weeks worth of days

I worked out if you just put away £2 every day you will actually end up saving more than doing the penny challenge and you don't need to find £3.50, £3.51, £3.52 etc in December when it is already a difficult month. The person who moves a mountain begins by carrying small stones.

Great way to save and on last day, day 360 you will put in £3.60 but your total savings will be £649.80. Start any time good for you and keep at it. Good luck. We’ve had to remove your signature. Ive been doing this but in reverse. I started with £3.66 and working my way down and any extra loose bits of change I find I cross it off the lower ones too........Sort of doubled ended. My tin is almost full.total debt at LBM £4800
Debt as of Mar 2016 £1790 Hope to be debt free July 2016:eek:
Sealed pot challenge number 5520 -
I had a quick count up last night of my highlights days (I write all the daily amounts in a calendar and am highlighting off as I chuck them in the tin) and I am 60 days ahead of myself on the penny challenge
not bad going as I don't spend cash to get change very often...

I'm doing the challenge in reverse, starting at £3.66 & ending at 1p. Today I have over £180 saved:j Every day I make a payment a day (PAD) from my current account to my savings account.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
79.5 coupons rolled over 4/75.5 coupons spent - using for secondhand purchases

Sounds like a good idea. My question is where do you get the money from? I so rarely carry cash (only if I need it for a specific thing).
Do you just transfer it over from your bank account to your savings account?0 -
