New Mortgate with bad credit

Hello,

I am currently looking at the best way to get onto the property ladder. I have had bad credit in the past on my file so I'm wondering the best course of action to try and gain a mortgage now.

I am wondering how much of a deposit I would require to be considered for one now, and who would be the best to contact to discuss options for a mortgage. does anyone have any recommendations on the best people to speak to regarding this situation

Thanks

Speak to an independent mortgage broker.

Ask a friend who has recently moved for a recommendation.

Are you happy to go in to details about what bad credit you have?
Ideally we would need to know what you have (ie default/CCJ etc), when it was registered and how much for. Dont take this the wrong way, but the whys and wheres are not really important at this stage.

If not, then you would be best speaking to a Whole of Market mortgage broker and/or a broker who specialises in bad credit.

In theory people with defaults can be placed with high street lenders through to non high street lenders with rates in excess of 7% - so its all about the details really.
