mini ovens, are they any good?

been looking at getting a mini oven for convenience. i currently live in a shared property so it would save me having to rely on the main oven, and i can even just plug it in in my room if needs be. does anybody own a mini oven or used one and is it any good? does it cook food well?

I bought my mini oven nearly 2 years ago when my oven broke down, just as a short term stand in, however, I'm still using it despite replacing my cooker, which I use less frequently. I bought it for £24.99 from Currys, and it works out great for me, haven't had a problem so far.

May depend on what type you are considering buying. If you are just buying mini-oven ( without a built in hob ) , then it may be better to consider a microwave combination oven ?

My mum used to have a Baby Belling, she could cook a roast xmas dinner for four on it OK.

We (well, my housemate) had one when we lived in a shared house. It worked great.

I used one for many years when I lived in Oxfordshire, and didn't actually have a "main" oven in my kitchen at all. If I was going to go that route now, I'd get one with a couple of hot plates on the top, but honestly, if you're only cooking for you, I'd definitely say go for it.

I don't have a mini oven, but have a halogen one, which I use most of the time now, rather than my main oven, and love it. Would buy one again if the need arose, but would get one with a hinged lid.

I have a mini-oven, which replaced our microwave when it broke (not a fan of microwaves!) and it's brilliant. We now have a choice of 3 ovens! One big, one tall but slim, and the mini, which wouldn't do for a meal for 7, but for a single cake or pizza, or just to re-heat something, it's fantastic.

Having read lots of reviews & specifications, I bought at the higher end (Lakeland) & have no regrets.

Never used my mini halogen oven but then I barely use my oven.

My dad uses his full size halogen oven at least 5 times a week.
