Mine, also a Beko, specifically states I must use salt and rinse aid to preserve guarantee.

In which tests, Fairy Platinum came out top but unless you get it on a great offer is in excess of 40p per wash (they're liquid tabs so no splitting); Lidl is second, aldi third and finish fourth. Aldi and Lidl were the which recommended buys at approximately 10p a wash and were rated quite a bit higher than finish.

Out ahead was the fairy platinum which "cleans the dishwasher with every wash". Now for me I buy it on offer at around 12p a wash and find it works brilliantly in my machine with my water and usage.

Lidl is the only store I know of that does salt in a box which is soooo much better IMHO.

I used to like Finish booster rinse aid but since using the fairy tablets I just use any brand (aldi magnum, persil from poundstretcher, whatever really).

I also use a dishwasher cleaner every couple months just in case.

A couple of tips, if you have a wet dry vacuum it will make cleaning the arms and filters out really easy. Occasionally you may trip the flood switch (over zealous mopping or spillages on the kitchen floor that cath a grain of dust of other particular into the switch), the pump will run continuously and won't do much else. Flip the machine up, you might want to google by type, it's only a little polystyrene disk that raises in a "flood" engaging a switch. Just give it a quick clean, and bobs your uncle. (I've had it happen twice both times were to do with a mop bucket - one kicked over and the other handle snapping)

    Enjoy your dishwasher! Cxx

I live in a very soft water area and have never used salt and always wondered why the local Tesco Metro stocks it. Maybe the answer is the guarantee?
I use Fairy Platinum when it's on offer because it's the only one where I've actually noticed a difference in results.
