Mortgage payslips and sickness

Options
Hi everyone!

I'm not sure if I'm just being abit OTT but I just really want to check something.

Me and my husband are currently in the process of getting our 3 months of "good" payslips to provide for our mortgage application but I'm concerned about having to ring in sick for work due to flu as I'm not yet entitled to sick pay of any kind.

I just would like to know if I ring in sick and this deduction shows on my payslip, will it make a difference to the mortgage lenders or would they still just work it out on my contracted hours.

Thanks for anyone's help!

  • You'll be submitting usually 3 months of payslips, after 4 days of sickness in a row you'd be entitled to statutory sick pay.

A minor deduction shouldn't make a huge difference for affordability.

I also feel like noting if you had flu you'd be in bed and have no choice but to phone in sick.
  • Thanks for your reply.

I agree I have no choice but to call in sick. Doctor confirmed its flu and this is my 3rd day in bed as a result. I was just concerned that my income for one of the 3 payslips would dip slightly as a result but sometimes, these things really can't be helped!

    Thank you again
