New boiler installed - shower now doesn't work

Thanks for all the replies.
To confirm, i'm not sure about the details of the shower - it was installed by the last owner before i bought the house. It runs from the boiler though and it's not electric.
The shower never worked with the new boiler, but worked with the older boiler fine without any issues.
The new boiler is a combi (as was the old).
I'm going to contact BG complaints department, but just wanted to be sure they should have checked the outlets first. It feels like i should have been left with everything working as it was before. Instead I'm close to 2K down and now can't use the shower.I am an employee of British Gas but all views i write are personal and not a reflection of my employer.0 -
Lungboy: the OP's
strongly suggests it isn't electric.
If you take the shower head off, and allow the hose to lie in the tray, and then turn the shower on full, does the boiler then fire?
If it doesn't, place a bucket in there; hot tap on full/set to hottest on control, how long does it take to fill the bucket, and how large is the bucket by volume?
Following the above steps will really help to narrow down what the problem is, if you want further assistance!0 -
Does the shower work, albeit only with cold water coming out? If so is it thermostatic (you have a range of temperatures rather than manually controlling hot & cold)? It could be a broken thermostatic cartridge and it's just coincidence that it's failed whilst having your new boiler.0

Does the shower have its own isolation valves? They might have been left in the closed position during the boiler change over0

The next check is to see if there is flow through the HOT pipes to the shower. If there is no FLOW, there is no "Demand" on the Boiler.
I suspect that the hot water to the shower is isolated/blocked/not connected.
When we had ours replaced, upon removing the hot water tank etc. They connected the upstairs bathroom the wrong way around. We had a Hot Water flushing toilet for 5 mins or so...0
