Applying for a mortgage - defaults due to fall off

I had some adverse credit from 2010 due to fall off my report this year. I have had no other new adverse credit in the past 4-5 years. our joint income is healthy and we are saving up for a deposit to buy a home in 2017.
I just want to know if I have a good success rate for a mortgage in 2017 and looking to put 10-12% deposit.
Many thanks.

Hi, I just spotted this post. Hope you got some help on mortgage boards but as a reassurance I have a default that wont fall off for another 2 and a bit years but got approved with just a 5% deposit in October last year. if you've behaved since 2010 I'd say your chances were fair

I will be in this position in a few years time, so this is good to know Kirsty. I may be 2 years free of defaults on my record by then but still..0

Hi I'm in the same situation. We wish to apply for a mortgage with 10% deposit but have defaults due to drop off at the end of the year. Is there any options for us? KirstyO I'm curious as to which high street lender accepted you? I have been told no high street lender would touch us. Thanks for any help.Proud to be dealing with my debts0

Hi - can I strongly recommend an independent mortgage broker? Mine is a star and has helped us get an agreement in principle and talked through the best options from the whole of the market rather than us worrying it really set my mind as ease.
