Some information about sma inverters,if your inverter is under 5 years old you can still extend the warranty if you visit the sma GB web site.

I can see 'Gefnew' is a Newbie so may not be able to post urls

Here's the link for SMA warranty extensions :-

N.B. They use the term 'active' for supply only of replacement inverter; 'comfort' is the supply & fit price.

I wonder what the warranty will be on my REPLACEMENT inverter ????
The 2 months that remained on the old one ???
Perhaps if the new one fails the I should be looking at a 'Not fit for purpose' senario ??
Mmmmmmm just looked at the SMA website & warranty conditions
    http://www.sma-uk.com/fileadmin/content/global/Service/Documents/SB-SMC-STP-ZE-GEBED-en-31.pdf
Looks to me like I will only get 2 months warranty on the replacement inverter if I have read the above correctly.
Methinks I might take out a warranty extention.........
Cost to 10 years looks to be £174.00 incl VAT
  • Update...........
For anybody that is interested I have just had a new inverter installed under warranty.
Back up & running now earing money !!!
