Confession Time

Hi, I have been a member of this site for some time but now feel it is time to confess to my 'true' debt status - £25527.53!! This isn't from high living, I don't smoke, don't go out often or have expensive tastes, this has accumulated over the last 5 years paying extortionate rent to keep a roof over our heads! I have been tackling this amount and it is reducing and am looking to be debt free by 2012. Martin's moneysavingexpert has been invaluable in giving me the tools and confidence for tackling my huge debt and dealing with it, rather than trying to ignore the problem so I could sleep at night! As a small bonus by saving Tesco's clubcard vouchers and using the Clubcard deals my family and I shall have a short break in the UK later in the year with very little outlay. A small breakthrough but as I work full time I think a few days by the sea isn't too much to ask for. A big THANK YOU for all the invaluable advice and for knowing I'm not alone.

Well done on the progress you have made so far, and enjoy your break.

  • Well done Gemini Lady, in the grand scheme of things, 2012 isn't so far away. My DFD is around the same time, just think how much we are going to enjoy the London Olympics that year knowing that what we earn is all our own (and we can not even mind the postman coming!!)

Another one here with an estimated DFD of 2012! Sometimes it seems so far off but really it isn't. I think we should make a date to get together and celebrate when we get there!
