Is a disproportionate pay cut for part time work (same job) allowed?

I'm returning to work following maternity leave and my employers have agreed that I can go back part time. However, I am shocked to learn that I will be paid disproportionally less than my reduction in hours, as my basic salary is pro-rata'd but my commission is not. This could make a difference of several £100s a month compared to what I'd assumed I would be paid. Is this legal???

How is the commission calculated, is the same calculation used for full and part time staff?0

If your pay without commission is no lower than minimum wage then may not be illegal. Is the company discriminating against P/T staffIf you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0

The commission threshold has been lowered but not by enough. If I am working half the time, and make half the sales, I'd expect half the commission, but it works out less than that so I believe they are discriminating.0

If you worked full time, made all the sales, you would be paid 100% commission, so working half the time, making half the sales, what percentage is the commission now?If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0

Of course, commission could be tiered rather than a straight percentage, so if you sell £50K you get 1%, £100K 2%, etc. And someone working part time may only reach a lower tier than a full time employee.0

Belief is meaningless. So are expectations. Facts are not. Without deals of the composition scheme, the policies and an explanation of the difference between the calculations, you can't possibly get an answer.0
