Bank Loyalty?

I've started saving towards a house and have set a target of 18-24 months to save for a big enough deposit. I've noticed however that if I change to first direct they offer £150 for switching and I can then open a savings account offering 6% with them. I have however been with Halifax for over 13 years. If I am to switch from Halifax to first direct, will this work as a negative when I come to get a mortgage due to switching bank accounts?
thanks in advance!

I very much doubt it many people switch bank accounts and many people dont take out mortgages with their bank.0

Keep your old bank statements from Halifax just in case you need to get a mortgage quickly.
Most lenders want to see your last 3 months bank statements and please make sure ALL your direct debts are paid every month when you do switch.
The every last thing you need is a Default on your file !!
Mobile phone companies are the worst for this.

Have you opened a Halifax Help to Buy ISA?0

+1 - 4%, tax free + you get the 20% boost. Its a no brainer. Shouldn't stop you transferring current account in order to get a kick back however.Thrugelmir wrote: »Have you opened a Halifax Help to Buy ISA?0
