Oh. See what you mean then. Ha. I'd have to, reluctantly, frame it as cheating then! Note: not illegal though.
Well it's still like macros, although Python scripts are beyond the average web user, and THE reason captchas are there at all?
If I personally was setting up a competition page on my website I would have a captcha in place to remove such activity. I'm not a fan of these mag sites at anyway. Their business model surrounding advertisers cash is clearly transforming as I mentioned months back.“We are not interested in the fact that the brain has the consistency of cold porridge.” - Alan Turing (1912-1954)0 -
Bring back captacha.
Never thought I would hear myself saying that, but there you go lol.2017 wins = £1350

I'm glad of the hotkey explanation - in terms of what fellow competitors are doing. It wins.
I'm glad I haven't bothered with the mags comps.0 -
OK. Any help with these things for a total novice? I gather that a twitter-bot does a load of tweets for you? If so what and how do you use?
Autohotkey. Is this similar but you have to send each tweet yourself? Is there a tutorial for the geriatically challenged?Last win 2013!! Oh well.

I may be wrong, but I don't think there's anyone on here that uses a bot for Twitter, as it is just not cricket.
The auto hotkey thing is just a small script that basically presses enter for you, goes to the next tab, presses enter and so on. It is only any use for c2ws and although helpful, does not save too much time, it just stops you getting RSI. It was discussed in more detail in lthe comments here...

Im guessing that c2w means click to win? I remember some time ago a guy boasting that he enters twitter comps a thousand times. Now I obviously can't verify the veracity of that. Someone in this thread was talking of writing scripts - so obviously some people are doing it. The only scripts I'd be able to write would require a quill pen!!!Last win 2013!! Oh well.

Yes some do enter twitter comps with bots and they must end up with some right old tat if you ask me. More fish slices and cheese than you can shake a stick at! I am sure there are a few on here that use bots on twitter as they will stop at nothing to win a pack of baby wipes, but generally I think most of us on here select the comps we want to enter and do it manually.
I think the script you are referring to is the one for the C2Ws (yes that means click to win). As I said, it is not nearly as fancy as it sounds. I have tried it out, and yes it is helpful but I didn't find it saved much time. If I had a high end pc it may be far more effective, but opening 50 tabs to run it takes a loooong time on my standard laptop. Also I don't think it is a bot. To run it you have open all the pages you want to enter and keep you hand on the mouse, hovering it over the enter button. Yes the script clicks enter for you, and tabs to the next page, but its not something you can leave running whilst you pop down the pub whist it finds and enters a gazillion comps from all over the web.2017 wins = £1350

Many thanks for your help and guidance. Living on a narrowboat and pottering around suits me just fine - and so does taking things slow and easy so I'll just stick to what I know. I have a wife who clutters the boat.... I have to be very selective!
Thanks again and good luck.Last win 2013!! Oh well.
