Hello
Not been here for awhile been busy with work and ignoring my debt problems I suppose. Kinda just hit me tho I need to get a grip and do something about it!!! My debt totals 13K, all is unsecured I'm worried now I'm going to be taken to court by creditors as I've been so stupid and not got a grip of my debt. I'm going to sit tomorrow and do a I&E and send this to creditors I have 6, owe roughly 2k to each, would they take me to court for this? I'm going to make some phone calls tomorrow and get this sorted. Can anyone recommend debt groups that can help?
I feel I have totally messed up. Is there any possiblity of me getting a mortgage on a DMP? I have defaults.

Hi Miss F and welcome, I dont know too much about mortgages and DMP, but suspect that if your credit rating is poor then likely it would have to be a sub prime mortgage - there is likely to be others here who can better explain such things, however if you look at the sticky re SOA (statement of affairs), then there will be plenty of bods here who can help you. Dont panic there is always an answer.0

Thanks dubgirl. What is a sub prime mortgage? Sorry if this is a stupid question. Ok going to income and expenditure now.0

i contacted the cccs when i got in a similar situation and am now trying to pay back all my debts and all my creditors were fine about it and accepted apart form hsbc who have spent the past 12 months demanding i sign for a new loan with an extra £3000-15000 interest attached depending on how loing it takes to pay back
dont bury your head in the sand once the ball is rolling and then when you start to get somewhere with paying it off and can see a light at the end of a long dark tunnal its good ive still a long way to go but im trying my best to put right my wroings and learn from my mistakes
good luck0 -
Hi Frankie,
Here's the details of the debt charities that are recommended by Martin.Professional, free and impartial advice on debt problems can be obtained from several charitable and 'not for profit' organisations. They never make a penny from the advice they give, which means it will be given with only your best interests at heart. You can contact:
Your local CAB Office and ask to speak to a 'money advisor'.*** The Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) - Tel: 0800 138 1111 *** National Debtline - Tel: 0800 808 4000 *** Payplan - Tel: 0800 917 7823
(with thanks to Fermi for his excellent signature)

I think sub prime is something to do with higher interest rates, but dont quote me - I would strongly urge you to contact one of the debt charities that tiger feet has posted and have a look at Southern Scousers sticky for first time posters and post up your SOA (statement of affairs) there are plenty of bods here who can help you save money and work towards paying off your debts.0
