I still want to know how they process the postal entries. Do they scan them in or do people sit there in Derby manually inputting your details.

itv and many others are/were handled by one company, no idea if the "specialist operators" type or scan the info - name and phone number would only take seconds to type.

We receive and sort all / any responses according to the specific requirements of each individual campaign.
Typically, forms are opened and checked and then passed to one of our data centres for capture.

We have the capability to process data via the traditional method of keyboard input; by scanning; through the use of automated data capture and data recognition systems e.g. OCR / OMR; and also by the process of transcribing audio files.

Under particular circumstances, or in response to specific customer requirements, it may be appropriate to capture particular jobs off-shore to maximize client value

Same here, one entry by post is a minimal cost. I have loads of envelopes already and a 2nd class stamp is cheap enough
