How have I never come across this forum before?!

I have been a regular visitor to the MSE website for many years - and I have never noticed the competition forums....!
I stumbled across them yesterday and I've since been browsing for hours.
HOWEVER... I do not have hours to spare...I'm a busy working mum with 6 children and would estimate I have around 1 clear hour a day I could commit to entering competitions.
This being the case....in your experienced opinion would this be enough time to realistically expect any wins.....and which competitions should I concentrate on (ie. the ones you guys have the most success with)?
I notice you have a thread with competitions popping up all through the day and also some threads with 'dailies' - if I had to concentrate on one thread which one should it be?
Many thanks in advance....:)

    Maybe try this:
Quick ways to sort the board eg by end date & New Topic
    Specifically:
    Today's most popular
Then maybe "effort comps" as some say less enter those.

    Good luck

And remember, nothing is guaranteed. You may win loads, you may win nothing. Just dont go at it expecting to be able to win everything you need to live for the next few years or that youre going to win £20K+ in prizes. Thats the medias fabrication and in reality its nothing like that.

But, enjoy it and good luck!

I would say have a dip in them all at first and see which ones appeal to you. But it is pure luck that helps you win mostly. If you win then look at it as a bonus. Don't expect too much just enjoy your time and pick out what you fancy.

hi Revo & welcome to comps board
I agree with the post above,
just have a dip at the ones you'd like to win & then you
can always subscribe to the regular threads as in dailies/puzzler etc
    as in these
    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=64719861&postcount=3
if you subscribe to the threads you'll
get an instant notification as soon as a new comp is posted & that way you won't miss any,
    lots of good luck x

  • I am a student nurse in my last year, work part time and obviously have a family. I have caught up so just do the new ones per day this is much easier than catching up so far only been doing it since december all my wins are FB. but check out the guides
    Started comping 7/12/15
    Prize fund 2015: £55.89
    Prize fund 2016: £679.76
    Prize Fund 2017: £51.94
  • Don't do it lol
I too stumbled across this site whilst looking for coupons and freebies last april. (done a few local comps and mag ones before)
and now my family are thinking of arranging an intervention for me as I am completely addicted:rotfl:
I would say if you enter for an hour a day you could enter quite a few if your organised.
I tend to do a lot of entry form comps and do o.k with them but they take more time but do able with RoboForm. definitely look at the how to start section.
as other have said it's down to luck but I base my chances on the statistic provided somewhere on here which is for every 1300ish comps you enter you'll win one prise, so it really is just for fun.

I don't spend too much time on them and just enter those I would like to win. Magazine dailies are easy to do when watching TV in the evening or with first morning cup of tea. I won £100 garden vouchers last month. Don't always do them everyday. Best wins have been magazines such as TAB -I keep a running list of those completed and do a search on the word ISSUE about once a week and just catch up. Won £1000 cash in July. Also do postal ones where there is a decent prize making it worth stamp. Won £100 on one of these today.

  • With just an hour to spare each day I personally would just concentrate on doing the Mag dailies which are here https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5387557 They are easily listed ready to enter. I'd ignore the first section (click 2 wins) and start with cosmopolitan downwards. Do those you would like to win every day religiously. I get at least 1 win a month from them..sometimes 2 or 3 and they are often very nice prizes. You can put a lot of time into the main board with very little result but obviously there is always the slim chance of a nice life changing win. With the mags you at least have variety there. Any time left then do some from the main board of comps.
