what is meant when people talk about CCA ?

Evening all - I see reference on various posts about CCA. . What does that mean and how can it help my in debt situation? I know of DMP and IVA - is it another version of that?

No.
A CCA request is a process allowed under the consumer credit act to allow a debtor to request a copy of there original credit agreement pertaining to any running credit account, such as a loan, credit card, or catalogue account.

Different rules apply dependant on when the account was opened, but in short, failure to comply can render an account unenforcable in court.

That thread is a bit old and although the sample letter in it is OK, further down it gets a bit iffy.
