Paypal: Taking money from wrong source - video

Options
Hi,

On January 26th I noticed that my Paypal transaction the day before was taken direct from my bank instead of from my card.

On the 27th when I put my next transaction through I put it under a microscope, again it took from my bank instead of my card.

I done a quick search, quickly found exact same cases going back to January 2nd 2011.

I contacted Paypal, they told me I did something wrong and they aren't liable for and charges I incur for using the wrong funding source.

I recreated the event 3 times and recorded me doing so, still they tell me I am wrong.

I have contacted the Financial Services Ombudsman, they are writing to Paypal on my behalf. My complaint started at the beginning of this month and Paypal have eight weeks.

I just wonder if Paypal are liable for any charges. I am very lucky it was only small purchases or else I could be seriously in debt with more debt racking up.

I am not allowed to post links, new user thingy ... But this is the end of the Youtube link, maybe some mod could be kind enough to edit it in fully :)

We don't need a YOUTUBE video of you "re-creating" your original purchase via PayPal. It's not going to prove that you acted the same way originally.

Only PayPal and the Ombudsman can rule on your dispute, not random people on the internet.

lol, well, at least I know where your post count comes from.

Also you are really going to need to point out where I asked for random people on the internet to rule.

Also the video is what tends to be called evidence, corroboration and its just too funny that you would suggest I would somehow randomly find a flaw Paypal and well, it really makes no sense your point there.

Anyway, let me explain something to you.

For five years Paypal has been told there is a flaw in its Payment system. I just documented it and put a complaint in about it.

While this may seem tedious to some people I am sure it probably has resulted in disaster for other.

Consider if you want to put £2000 on a credit card so you have 2 months to pay it and Paypal does an instant bank transfer instead. Say you have £1500 in the bank and £1000 of that is for 5 direct debits.

That leads to a whole world of hurt.

The purpose wasn't to have people rule on my dispute, lol, I have to laugh ... you're comment is just absurd.

Anyway, no, this is in case someone has been hit with something like this in the past or may get hit with it in the near future.

Wow, the internet is full of them.

PayPal takes funds from sources in the following order

    Balance
    Bank Account
    PayPal Credit card
    Credit /Debit Card
    EChecks

This is clearly described in their T&C's

Since it's not even a video of you actually arranging the payment, it's actually not "evidence" at all.
By attempting to post it here (you can't unless you've been posting awhile), you are inviting strangers on the internet to give their opinion.

I have given mine and it is that no one here can judge.
