Hi Everyone
I had a bad fall at home back in March last year and reluctantly had to go part time due to constant discomfort from hips and knees,in the job I am doing.
I live in a park home, and although my outgoings are modest, still have to be paid for
Now doing so my salary has had taken a dive of course,my salary is going to be approx £750 to £800 per month nett,I am single age 50 and live on my own.
I have a Barclaycard zero interest card of 3 years with a balance of £1600 to clear.
Would like help with budgeting if possible
Thanks

Hi Dave
The best place to start is completing this statement of affairs template and then pasting your figures into this thread. I’m sure people will be happy to give you advice on budgeting.

Hello Dave. Before anyone can help we need to know what your outgoings are now. As James says, complete a statement of affairs and we can look at it and advise.
Sorry to hear about your accident, have you seen a doctor to find out if anything can be done to control your pain? You may be entitled to some benefits, perhaps check that out.
A lot of money can be saved if you cook your meals from scratch, a lot cheaper and more healthy than buying ready meals. Are you near the shops so you can shop around for the best prices?
Click the link on Jame's post and have a go at the SOA.
Good luck, IlonaI love skip diving.

Wouldn't worry too much about Barclaycard, takes them months, even years sometimes to default you, or pass your account to debt collectors, they bend over backwards to keep you as a customer, pay them a £1 a month for the time being, essential payments come first, unsecured debt always bottom of the list, don't spend too much time bothering about it.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. A friend of mine offered Barclaycard £10 per month against an £8000 debt. They didn't accept it but she just continued paying £10 per month and nothing further has happened - that was 4-5 years ago and interest has been frozen/stopped.
Another friend with £15,000 debt set up an agreement with Barclaycard to pay £150 per month but one payemnt went missing and BC issued a CCJ without notice. This was challenged and the Court looked at the income and expenditure and awarde a £50 payment to BC without interest saying, "you cannot afford £150". 3 years later the DDM with BC stopped (?) and nothing more has been heard from them.
I would ignore the advice that BC take ages to take action against an unpaid debt - you don't want a CCJ against you.
Don't worry, I'm sure they will accept whatever you can afford, after generous essential expenditure, and freeze the interest.
You have nothing to lose by making a minimal offer - but make the payments to avoid a CCJ.0 -
